Ethical Policy

Biosciences Reports is committed to upholding the highest standards of ethical conduct, research integrity, and transparency in biosciences publishing. All manuscripts submitted to the journal must comply with internationally recognized ethical principles, professional standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.

Research Involving Human Participants
Studies involving human participants, human data, or human biological materials must receive prior approval from an appropriate Institutional Review Board (IRB), Ethics Committee, or equivalent authority. Authors must clearly state the name of the approving body and the approval or reference number in the manuscript. Research must be conducted in accordance with the Declaration of Helsinki and relevant national or institutional guidelines. Informed consent must be obtained from all participants where applicable.

Research Involving Animals
Research involving animals must be approved by a recognized institutional or national animal ethics committee. All animal studies must be conducted in accordance with established animal welfare guidelines and regulations. Authors must clearly describe ethical approval and measures taken to minimize pain, distress, or suffering.

Clinical and Biomedical Research
Studies related to clinical, biomedical, or health sciences must adhere to applicable ethical, clinical, and regulatory standards. Authors are responsible for ensuring participant safety, confidentiality of data, and compliance with ethical research practices.

Biological Materials, Biosafety, and Biosecurity
Research involving pathogens, hazardous biological materials, genetically modified organisms (GMOs), or biosecurity-sensitive agents must comply with institutional, national, and international biosafety and biosecurity regulations. Authors must ensure appropriate approvals, containment procedures, and safe laboratory practices.

Environmental and Ecological Studies
Research involving environmental, ecological, or biodiversity-related studies must be conducted responsibly and in compliance with relevant environmental laws and ethical research standards. Necessary permits and approvals must be obtained where applicable.

Ethical Misconduct and Publication Ethics
Biosciences Reports maintains zero tolerance for plagiarism, data fabrication, data falsification, duplicate publication, or any form of unethical research and publication practices. Manuscripts found to violate ethical standards may be rejected or retracted at any stage of the publication process.

Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses
Authors submitting systematic reviews and meta-analyses are strongly encouraged to register their review protocols in recognized registries such as PROSPERO prior to conducting the study. Submissions should strictly follow the PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses) guidelines, and where applicable, a completed PRISMA checklist should be included to ensure methodological transparency and research quality.
